Living Tree Community, our producer, feels it is essential to support family farmers as they are threatened as never before. Our almond butter is created in Berkeley, California a wellspring of the human spirit. It has a rich tradition of Americans who dared to stand up and speak their truth.

The California almonds are plump, smooth and bright. In a special region of the Central Valley. It was once an inland sea. Its rich, alluvial soil is wondrous fertile.

This great plain is a sea of white in February when the almonds blossom. The orchards are irrigated by water from melting snow high in the Sierras. It is brought to them by a marvelous system of canals. California almonds are sweeter and their flavor is richer and more complex.

Our manufacturer has been producing almond butter for over 25 years and developed, over the years, a proprietary process. The almond butter is made slowly, over several days, to keep the temperature low and under control. This insures the raw quality of the product. This insures the raw quality of the product. The almonds are sliced, and not ground. Furthermore, it is made frequently, in small batches, so it's fresh and alive.
